How to Add and Manage Events
Adding an Event to the Calendar
Who Can Add Events?
Anyone can submit events to the FYILosAlamos Event Calendar. When you submit an event, our moderators must approve it before it goes life. We try to keep most events on this calendar limited to those that are happening in Los Alamos, New Mexico. (With some exceptions.) If you are a cultural provider or host lots of events in Los Alamos, consider becoming a registered Event Contributor.
How Do I Add an Event?
Navigate to the FYILosAlamos Event Calendar at fyilosalamos.com. It’s the homepage of this website.
Directly above the calendar, and to the right, click on the blue + Post Your Event button.
Simply fill in the event details using the popup dialog box.
Note that when adding Tags to your event, it should be the name of the host organization. (Check to see if your event is already listed as a tag option.
If you have a repeating event, you may want to register as an event contributor. There are tools that make repeating events easier. Register here: fyilosalamos.com/register

Add a Tag. The tag should be the name of the hosting organization. If more than one organization is hosting, separate by a comma. Do not add generic tags like “science”, “class”, “food”. They will be deleted.
7) Add a Featured Image
In the Featured Image box, below the tags and category boxes, click “Set Featured Image”
This is the image that will display on the public calendar. We find that events with images are viewed much more often than those without. If you are familiar with optimizing images for the web, please do so. You can upload full-size pictures, but it may slow the load time of your event.
If you use the same image for multiple event, there is no need to upload it more than once, simply find it in the Media Library. Otherwise, use the Upload Files tab.
